Pikes Peak Cog Railway

ten minutes to make the round trip. The train departs in Manitou Springs and makes the

climb to the top of Pikes Peak. The train passes along cascading streams, forests of

Englemann spruce, Colorado blue spruce and Ponderosa Pines. You will also see an area

of bristlecone pines with some trees estimated to be over 2,000 years old. Bighorn sheep

are frequently seen on the trip along with deer and the yellow-bellied marmot. The train

spends approximately thirty minutes at the top of the mountain before making the climb down
